Staff Accountant
This in-office opportunity is well suited to a detail-oriented accounting professional who can step into a fast-paced setting and support core financial operations with accuracy and efficiency. The role focuses on day-to-day transactional accounting, reconciliations, and payables processing while helping maintain reliable financial records during a busy period.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
Reconcile monthly credit card account statements, identify variances, and follow through on outstanding items to ensure accounts remain accurate.
Compile and enter accounts payable invoices for processing, ensuring invoices are coded correctly and recorded promptly.
Coordinate check runs and other payment activities so vendors are paid accurately and on schedule.
Record journal entries in the general ledger and help keep financial information complete, organized, and up to date.
Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations, identify variances, and follow through on outstanding items to ensure balance sheet accounts remain accurate.
Support accounts receivable functions as needed.
Perform accounting duties for multiple entities within different accounting software including Certinia, QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
Staff Accountant Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions accurately.
At least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience in a detail-oriented work environment.
Two-year accounting degree required. Four-year accounting degree preferred.
Previous accounting experience within the construction sector is preferred.
Practical experience with accounts payable processing and payment administration.
Demonstrated ability to complete general ledger and bank reconciliations and resolve account discrepancies.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions accurately.
